Merrylands was named by Englishman Arthur Todd Holroyd in 1855, who also named the adjoining suburb of Holroyd after himself. According to the 2016 census, the suburb has a population of approximately 29,000 people.

Merrylands is a diverse suburb with a range of shopping centres, schools, parks, public transport and other public facilities. Stockland Merrylands will cater to a wide range of your shopping needs and is located close to train and bus services. There are number of sporting grounds such as Merrylands Park which is home to the Merrylands Soccer Football Club. as well as Central Gardens which has wildlife, water features and picnic facilities.
